A reminder to everyone that we will not be riding this coming weekend as we don't have access to the fairgrounds arena. There will be a reining competition there and I'm confident it will be something entertaining to see and something worth experiencing, if you're free. We will be riding again next weekend, May 6 and 7 and will have the school kids on the 5th.
We will be offering a program on Thursday mornings in May 10:30-11:30 for Middle School students with special needs. This will be only groundwork and we plan on doing cool things like painting the horses (really). If any of you are free let us know and come help out.
I want some old tires for obstacles in the arena. I'm sure that some of you know a place where there are old tires lying about, breeding mosquitos. If so pick them up and bring them in and we'll use them for cool stuff like making Hayley's Pizza Hut (you kinda gotta be there). A tractor tire is high on my list of wants as well.
We've gotten word that the mulch pile at the BGAD site will be moved in the next couple of weeks. Wouldn't that be a great place for a riding arena?
The Grand Opening of the BGAD center will be combined with the Rotary Fund Raiser on May 21. I hope that all of you will be able to attend. This should be great fun. There is planned a Golf Scramble, pig roast, games for the kids and carriage or wagon rides (we'll be putting Debbie and Dena to work). Our Friend Frank Jenkins (the Berea Leprecaun) will be calling the Barn Dance and we're working on getting some live musicians (as opposed to dead ones?) to provide the tunes. So far no one from the Rotary has asked us to provide any helpers but we'll keep you posted. We will need some help prettying up the big girls so any of you who have "dressed up" a horse for show would be welcome to show us what to do.
That's all for now!
